Last month, Roswell Marine had the privilege to sponsor The Bash fishing tournament organized by the Woody Foundation for the second year in a row. Presented by Invincible Boats, this Miami-based tournament brings together a great community of anglers and divers to compete and raise money for the Jackson Rehabilitation Hospital. Starting in the Bahamas 12 years ago, The Bash (formerly the Lionfish Bash) has grown into a first-class event, staying true to its core values: fishing for a cause, having fun and raising awareness & funds for people living with paralysis. As a sponsor and participant, Roswell is truly honored to be a part of the Woody Foundation community and this year had more fun than ever competing alongside this passionate, talented group of people.
Switching things up for 2022, The Bash added a few categories that spiced things up a bit. Our crew brought a secret weapon this year with Team Roswell Jr. Angler Macy Lebron on board, who gave it her all to be in the running for Jr. Angler, Lady Angler, and throwing in an inspirational entry for the new Bash Can Slam category. The most prestigious of awards, the Bash Can Slam encouraged dishonesty in submitting your less-than-desirable catch of the day along with the epic catch tale to go with it. When the scales settled, Macy was the clear Bash Can Slam winner, in the running for Lady Angler and missed the Jr. Angler top spot in a nail-biter by 0.01 lbs.
A big shout-out goes to the Woody Foundation, James “Woody” Beckham, Captain David Mills, Lucy Foerster, Will Beckham, and the rest of the Woody Foundation family!
